When in YIG, one of the best parts is getting to dress up! One of the worst parts, however, is the blisters that come along with wearing heels… So what can be done about it?

It is best to avoid them in the first place, and one way to do so is to choose the right pair of shoes. Before buying, make sure that they are not too tight or loose, since that can cause rubbing and pressure, and eventually blisters.

Another option for delegates is to bring more than one pair of shoes, so they do not need to wear uncomfortable shoes the entire conference. If this cannot be done, wearing socks or putting bandaids where blisters usually occur will help to prevent them.

If blisters are already there, avoid popping them and keep the area clean. If there is a chance, take breaks from wearing them or sit down for a bit, and make sure to walk correctly.

By using these tips, any delegate deciding to wear heels will have a more pleasant and enjoyable YIG experience.
